I'm considering a cruise combined with a land stay in Tahiti in 2007. Has anybody done this cruise, or stayed there?

I haven't actually gone myself. But, booked a client on a cruise with a 2 day stay before hand in Papeete and afterward.

Did Tahiti 11/99 on Renaissance R3. Tahiti and the R3 were wonderful but the flight was a real grind

We took a South Pacific Cruise about five years ago that included Tahiti. What a beautiful place!

Do have to agree with flacruiser -- the flight was a real bear!!!

So glad we've been there! Go and enjoy!

We are booked for an October cruise with 2 pre-nights in Papeete. We can't wait! If anyone has any recommendations on what not to miss in Tahiti, please send them my way!

Mom took a cruise there and met her two sister who were vacationing there in Tahiti. They thought it would be special to stay in those huts on the water. Boy they were so envious of my mom who had a air conditioned cruise ship to return to, they didn't have air, but they got alot of bug bites. My mom had a great time. My aunts would stay in an air conditioned hotel next time. Hope I helped.
