I haven't, but daughter and son-in-law were on a cruise and stopped there this past May. They loved it. They hired a private driver (I think through the cruise line) and had a great day. Lots of history, and a beautiful location.

Dubrovnik is one of the few land places that I would like to visit again and again. The old town is gorgeous (even the streets are marble!) and the countryside is just as nice. About 20 miles outside of Dubrovnik is the village of Captet on the Adriatic Coast. Very quaint. Dubrovnik itself looks like a movie set and there are lots of artists selling their wares. We have two paintings in our bedroom from there. You can walk around the entire town wall in about an hour and a half.

My Signature 27 cruises and countin'!
Next cruise, July 12-26, 2008. NCL Jade 13 night cruise around the British Isles, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris.

You must walk round the walls if you are visiting Dubrovnik. The views are wonderful. However do it early before it gets too hot then chill out in a little outdoor cafe

Have visited Dubrovnik twice, the town is lovely but does get extremely busy, think there were too many boats in when we were there last month. Both times also went out into the country trying local food and wine, ( ships tours.) Countryside lovely and is the cleanest country have visited so far. Went to a lovely restaurant for snack this time the place was idylic, rivers, waterfalls and waterwheels but unfortunately only stayed for 20 minutes would have been nice to stay longer.
