Hey all...

I just found out some important information and thought CLF should know about it here....

St. Petersburg, Russia is having a Summit Conference in July, which is impacting cruiselines and the possibility that some cruises may have to rearrange or skip this port during part of July to accommodate the Summit. There is a link http://en.g8russia.ru/, which explains more of the conference and what's being impacted.

It's been confirmed by Denrus, one of the independent tour companies of St. Petersburg....

If you're on one of these cruises, you may want to contact the cruise line to see how they'll be handling their itinerary...

The G8 Summit is being held there. St. Petersburg is UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!! Our tour guide also said that they were going to be closing the port on the 3 days surrounding the summit - so yes, cruises might be affected!

Since this cruise is so popular, I thought I would let people know so they can plan accordingly! I'm glad I went last year, as the only impact we had was a marathon in Helsinki! We were easily able to work around it, though.
