Thread: The Laffnvegas Anniversary Cruise Aboard the MS Oosterdam March 17,2007

This is an OPEN Invitation to anyone interested in joining Tom and I to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversery aboard Holland America's Beautiful MS Oosterdam to the Mexican Riviera out of San Diego California. Several have already booked and we are taking up the 5th floor starboard corner aft.But you can choose you cabin any where on the ship so it is important to book early to get a great location. Also the prices that have been offer under this group cruise are better than those found on the interent currently. If you are interested contact me for more information and prices. Final payment will not be due until Dec. 23, 2006

Sher, Yes we will definitely have a heck of a great time "South of the Border" another CLF member "thejudge" aka Tom Judge who also works with me is also booked and has the cabin to the other side of us. I have heard from a few other that are committing but want to wait to book for a couple of months.

Tom my DH says he doens not remember proposing the first time (I don't either) we just starting planing a wedding So he has been joking about when he should ask me this time Gee, maybe he will do it this Saturday which is our 29 yr wedding anniversary. Not to confuse everyone but we were actually married March 25th but I could not take the cruise that would have been over the 25th because of work issues so I figured it would be best to do it the week before. They usually do the ROV on the last Formal night which would be the 22nd so it is actually only 3 days before.

It would be great to go but I can not.

Lisa- After 30 years, 3 days is not a biggie!!!

When I was a kid we spent Christmas in Puerto Vallarta each year. At that point, it was a small fishing village with hardly an airport! Always love to return as the old town has many sites I remember from 40 years ago!
Needless to say, there was no Hooters in PV in the early 60's.

I spoke with our TA today and we are getting more poeple booked on our cruise. There is a couple from San Deigo, her name is Kryse not sure of her husbands name. Her CC handle is Buckett. Then some good friends of ours that live in Boise, ID Kathy and Bob who cruised with us in October 2005 will be joining us. They already know Tom Judge who works with me and has one of the cabins next door to us because the 5 of us cruised together last year on the Oosterdam. Then by very good friend Colleen who was Maid of Honor in our wedding has talked another good friend of ours to go and room with her. They are both First Time Cruisers so we will all have fun showing them the ropes Of course there is also Tija and Pat aka SeagypsyI from the other board.

We are going to have a GREAT TIME

I've been to Mazatlan before, we may just stay on the ship that day.

You know wanting to know the latest count is a very good question???

Well, there is You and Bob, Tom Judge and possibly his friend Mary. Tom's cabin is the other side of our cabin, he works with me and has cruised with Tom and I before (last October) and he and Mary are going with us on the Zaandam in November. Then next door to Tom Judge is Bob and Kathy from Boise, ID. They also cruised with us last October on the Oosterdam. Kathy and I worked for the same company over 13 years ago for about 8 years, so another words we go back a very long way. Then Colleen who lives in Phoenix who was my Maid of Honor in our wedding and Carole who lives in Cedar Rapids IA who also helped with my wedding. Then there is Tija and Pat. Tija is SeaGypsy1 from the CC board and lives here in Las Vegas. Then there is CC member Buckett, I cannot remember there names right now but I now they are from San Diego and went on the Oosterdam for their Honeymoon and was able to book the same cabin. There is a lady I work with who runs our cappacino bar by the name of Bobbie who is also planning on coming but wanted to make sure her health will be OK before she book. There are some others that have emailed me that have booked but not booked thru our Group Cruise. I am hoping there will be others that will book, I think a lot of people do not book that far in advance and they like to wait till closer to the end of the year.

Sounds like a fantastic group!!!

I forgot to post about this question. Actually we like Mazatlan a lot. Down in the Golden Zone there is this little two story Mexican Restaurant that we really like. It is kind of a tradition. Bob and Kathy like it also so I am sure we will go there and also do some shopping. I actually like the shopping better there than I do PV. We will be in all three of these ports in November. This will be the very first cruise for Colleen and Carole. Colleen and I are extremely close, she was my Maid of Honor and I her Matron of Honor, she is no longer married. I am sure I will be doing some things with her and seeing them thru a first timers eyes. Her and I are still extremely close and talk on the phone at least once a week or more and then I try to get to Phoenix a few times a year. We may retake the City Tour in Mazataln which is really pretty good IMO, I would not mind doing the Swim with the Dolphins again in PV but it is really an expensive excursion so not sure they will want to spend that much money. Their funds are a bit limited.
