Hey Robin!! I don't know if you've ever had an aft wrap before but.....they are awesome. We had one on the Dream.

Our roll call wasn't real active either, but some of us got together and had a cabin crawl. I'd never done one before.....it was fun. The person that had the cove balcony backed out and I really wanted to see that one. We did get to see a suite and it was SWEET but, I think I'd still take my aft wrap any day. A couple hours after the cabin crawl we had the meet & greet. We did things backwards because Carnival messed that up, but it turned out OK in the end.

Welcome back, Debbie! Sounds like you had a great time

A couple people said that they would like to get together for drinks or something so I posted my room number and mentioned a couple places onboard that we could perhaps meet. -- So far nobody has responded back. Ah well, it is going to be a brilliant cruise!

I'd rather have people not commit to attending an onboard meet than to have them commit and not show up. It's difficult to plan get-togethers because you never know the exact schedule of events (subject to change anyway), plus people get caught up in their own agendas.

I still think roll calls are useful. The less experienced can ask questions of veterans of a particular ship or itinerary. It gives you an idea of some other guests aboard if they provide the most general info (celebrations, number of kids if any, etc.). Some post a user photo and are identifiable when you see them around the ship or in the terminal.

Don't be discouraged. Not everyone is chatty on a roll call. That doesn't mean they're not lurking, keeping an eye on what might be said, perhaps posting just before sailing.

    Thank you, Taswira

It's ok if nobody wants to meet up, Hubby and I can just do sail-away from our lovely veranda
