Thread: Prayers needed for Schertzcruiser!

Since this seems to be the place to go to request prayers - I have one. On Friday, my husband - Schertzcruiser, was involved in a very serious car accident. He was driving his '72 mustang convertible with the top down to Larado for a parade. He lost control and rolled the car at least twice and has 3 fractures to his C1 vertabrae and some possible minor heart damage. Fortunatly, it has not affected his spinal cord. But this morning he suffered an allergic reaction to some medication and his airway closed up. He is still very much in critical condition and in ICU. He was flown from the Larado hospital to San Antonio to be with the best doctor to deal with his injury. I have had several doctors tell me that they are amazed he is alive as fractures to the C1 mean certain death 99.9% of the time. There has been lots of prayers but he can certainly use more. Thank you.

Maggie, our prayers are going up for Hermon and for you and your family. Please keep us posted on how he is coming along. I know it's not easy watching your husband in a hospital bed and not being able to do anything yourself, but God is good and will comfort you in this time of uncertainty.

Hang in there Maggie. No spinal cord damage is a miracle on its own. Give him our best when you think it's the right time. Prayers are with you.

Tell him that we all send our hopes that he get better soon. And a special wish for you to make it through all this. My wife said that my quadruple bypass was the worst day in her life. I can imagine this is yours.

You will both get past this.

I know how Shertzy loved those parades. I'm shaken by this news.

We've had one miracle that he was able to survive, such a horrific accident.
I pray now for a full recovery.
