Thread: TV question

Moral TV question here:
In the aftermath of 9/11: most movies that involved terrorism were pulled or delayed in release.
Now with Katrina: do you think (I think on ABC) the series "Invasion" should be delayed and have it's season opener in January. The show involves a major hurricane.

I think the media has totally lost all sense of propriety. One of the TV stations showed Apollo 13 two days before the last space shuttle flight was supposed to land. I thought that was disgusting. In contrast, during the actual Apollo 13 flight, all movie theaters pulled "Marooned" off their marquees in respect for the astronauts who were currently in danger.

Yes, get it off. Can you imagine the horror of the the people affected watching a movie like this? Good grief!

Yeah they should delay it. If they don't though, they should post a warning/disclaimer message before it starts about what to expect.

Something tells me those effected by the hurricane will not be going to movie theaters to watch any move for a long time eeeks!

I'll play devils advicate, it might help others who have never gone thru a hurricane better understand what they went through and donate money to the relief !

I dont watch those movies anyway cause I dont like to see the destruction, but some people need to see it to believe it I guess

Just for clarification: "Invasion" is a NEW SERIES for ABC NOT a movie. It's not a one time mini series. This show will last at least 1 full TV season (if it's not canceled).

TV schedules can become very flexible. Just look at the number of shows that get put on hiatus or others that are repeated during the week to gain viewership (usually replacing shows that are in trouble). Odds are TPTB at ABC are discussing this issue in great depth.
