Thread: Ugly Ships

Is there anyone here who honestly likes the way the Norwegian Cruise Line paint some of their ships I.E. The latest Norwegian pearl !! Yuk , what is that all about?....I have to say that it looks nasty....and cheap.

What do you think?

I haven't seen the Pearl, but I disagree with you a bit. I've seen the Hawaiian ships and the decoration really sets them apart from the rest of the crowd. You know right away which line you are seeing. I don't find it ugly at all. If the painting covered the entire ship my opinion would probably change.

I agree with ya.

I had to go find a pic of the Pearl after that last posting. Here it is. Too Bad there isn't any black pearls on it. LOL

79 pounds per person??? Geez, you Brits get some great deals.

I totally agree with you!! They look UGLY and CHEAP,
If I ever had a desire to try NCL, I sure don't now! I think they all look yukky and the Pearl is no exception. What on earth were they thinking when they did that? My favorite ships are the all white ones. I think they have a real classy look, JMO

Consider that when you are on the ship, you can't see the designs. It certainly doesn't take away from the cruise in any way, and it does distinguish them from the run of the mill white ship. That being said, HAL and Cunard have dark bottoms, white tops, which is more traditional even than all white.

As for trying NCL, it was our first cruise and none since have topped it as far as food and service go.

I think they look a little cartoonish.
I do not care for the the look.
