    World Series

A repeat of '68. Tigers vs. Cardinals and I was there (well in the Motor City) partying and dancing in the streets after the Tiger's victory. Will it happen again? I think so but it will take the Tigers 5 or 6 games to do it. I kind of hope 6 so they will do it here at home. What's your take?

It got a bit scary last night. I though Jones would blow it in the ninth.

I don't know what to say. Inexperience, fatigue, who knows. They are young, skillful but inexperienced at post-season play. Let's keep in mind that three years ago they were the laughing stock of MLB. Even last year they had a poor record. Still the boys blew it. Oh well, time to get back to Red Wings and Pistons. (note no mention of Lions)

Seamus, you hit the nail right on the head. The Cards came to play World Series baseball and the young Tigers just were not ready. I think the first error of the game was the decision to pitch Verlander. The young man just is not ready for that kind of pressure. But then it is always easy for arm chair managers to sit here in judgment. At least the Tigers are AL Champs, quite a feat considering where they came from.

Congratulations to your team from a guy who was born in MO but has lived in MI all his life. Now I have to go face my daughter-in-law (originally from St. Louis). I really wish I'd have kept my big mouth shut.
