On our last trip there, there were 3 of us that went moseying around town. We got a taxi driver for the day. His "boss" quoted us one price. When we got through with the day, the taxi driver said, what about me? So we gave him a bit extra. I know he was full of it, but it ticked me off. I bought some Blue Mountain coffee there. Got it home and it was not fresh!
    Not my favorite place anymore.
But I do like the Jamaican patties. Yum Yum.

We have been there once. We had a nice tour from a local taxi, went to a garden, saw the falls. We got dropped off in a town for an hour of shopping. Hated the shopping area.

What we saw we both liked but neither of us has any interest in going back.

Much prefer Ocho Rios than Montego Bay.

HAL ships always dock at the old "James Bond" pier and it isn't that bad of a walk to go to Jimmie Buffets at the Village.

HAL never gets to dock at the big pier.

We enjoyed climbing the Falls, but don't want to pay the taxi and admission everytime we stop there, so now we go to Mahogany Beach. Fun and low key.
    Have a GREAT day! Gayla

We liked it OK, I've been there twice. The first time DH and I went on a boat trip that took us to the falls and then snorkeling which was ok. Then headed for Margaritaville which was alot of fun. The next time I went, it was with a friend. We went ziplining! Outstanding! Then of course, the required trip to Margaritaville In a nutshell, I never saw much of the town except to ride thru it and no one robbed us so I liked it

I really liked Ocho Rios! And, we never felt unsafe for even a minute.

But, I think the key is this: We had a wonderful guide... privately booked. He sheparded just five of us around, and I guess he really knew what he was doing. We went to the falls, to fern gully, and then to a beach, where three of the five of us got a private snorkel on a boat he booked for us!

We were never bothered by a single vendor.

O'Neal (our guide) was yound, energetic, very entertaining, and extremely knowledgeable. We learned a LOT while having a wonderful time!
