    Mumbai Cancelled

More cruise lines cancel Mumbai calls in wake of terrorist attack

It looks like Mumbai is off the map for cruisers -- at least for now.
Three more major lines -- Oceania Cruises, Azamara Cruises and Seabourn Cruise Line -- have canceled upcoming calls in the Indian commercial hub in the wake of last week's widely-reported terrorist attacks.
The lines are following Royal Caribbean, which quickly canceled the Legend of the Seas' two-night call in Mumbai scheduled for Sunday and today.

Among the ships that will be skipping Mumbai in the coming weeks is the Oceania Nautica, which was in the headlines over the weekend after being attacked by pirates in the Gulf of Aden. Also dropping Mumbai as a port call are the Seabourn Spirit and Azamara Quest.
Royal Caribbean's Legend of the Seas, in the midst of a 27-night voyage from Rome to Singapore, spent extra time last week in Dubai as compensation for the missed port. It's next stop is the India resort area of Goa.
The Seabourn Spirit, Azamara Quest and Oceania Nautica all were scheduled to call in Mumbai between Dec. 7 and Dec. 9. The ships instead will remain at sea.
Located on the West coast of India, Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay), is a popular stopover for cruise ships heading from Europe to Asia and vice versa. Billed as the world's fifth most populous metropolitan area, it's home to India's financial and entertainment centers.
The terrorist attacks centered in part on well-known Mumbai hotels often visited by Western tourists, including cruisers.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

That is so sad to hear that cruises are cancelled to Mumbai.. but it is the right thing to do because of the recent blasts in Mumbai...
