Cancer survivors beware that Oceania Cruise Lines Spa services may not be available to you. On the first day of a recent cruise on the Nautica my wife was denied spa services due to her prior history of cancer. This is despite the fact that she had been declared NED (no evidence of disease) months prior to the cruise. This cruise was to celebrate her recovery from the disease. Needless to say, this ruined our trip.

She was treated like a pariah by the spa personnel and even though the ship's general manager stated that the spa employee was ignorant, no offer of services was made for the remainder of the voyage. Now, the ship's excuse is that the spa is an independent contractor and they have no control over the operation of the spa. In fact they have informed us to voice all complaints with the spa operator.

I don't know if this is just for post-cancer patients or if there are other maladies which would result in the same treatment, but BEWARE.
