I heard a rumor that RCI is looking at purchasing Oceania??

I have no information or confirmation.

Anyobdy else have any thing more substantial???

If RCL where to acquire the company, I'd hope they'd retain the touches that make Oceania so lovely!!

I think they are always looking to expand but this may have been speculation around the time they bought the Spanish operator.

It seems Oceania has found a cash infusion. Here's an excerpt from this week's Frommer's newsletter:

Investment Firm Buys Forms Strategic Partnership with Oceania Cruises

The investment group Apollo Management L.P. has paid the equivalent of $850 million (including assumption of debt) for a large stake in Oceania Cruises, the three-ship cruise line formed from the ashes of the old Renaissance Cruises, which folded in 2001. Oceania will remain a wholly independent brand under the leadership of its founding management team, and will operate with the support of Apollo's $12 billion private equity fund.

Rumor now has it that with this new infusion of capital, that Oceania may be contracting for new builds!
