Just received in the snail mail an offer for 10 days on the Tahitian Princess for $999 per person for a November or December cruise. Sounds great except for air fare. Cheapest I saw was $3,990 per person out of JFK, with 2 stops. Direct was $5,000 per person. Anyone know of a cheaoer way to get to French Polynasia?

This may be one of those times when cruise air is the way to go. We were looking at the Hawaii to Tahiti cruise on the TP in June 2006 and cruise air would be the only way we could afford it. We probably would pay the deviation fee to go early or stay later though.

Hi - we are going on the Tahitian Princess in January. We booked through a travel agent and are very satisfied.

How much was the flight?

For the 12 day cruise starting June 10, 2006 we were quoted $825. (taxes included) for air to Hawaii and back from Papeete flying from LAX. We live in the midwest so we would have to find our own way to LAX. Princess deviations are $75. but we would probably do that so we could go a couple of days early and also, do an extra day post-cruise. Anything I have found on-line on our own was over $2500!

OUr flights were just over $1000 but hey, we are coming from Australia. Our travel agent advised us to pay quickly because the air fares have just gone up due to the increasing price of fuel. So we have saved a considerable amount by paying last week.

That is what we were quoted for the March 10th cruise, that we have since cancelled. But, we have been twice, and you will love FP! It is my favorite cruise and destination, period!

Right now we are still booked for the June 10 Hawaii to Tahiti cruise but my in-laws may want me to plan a cruise to Alaska instead that same week. We have been to AK twice but I will gladly cruise anywhere anytime! Also, several of our relatives have never cruised before so want to get them hooked too. I was really looking forward to the Tahitian Princess cruise but I suppose that could be another year. At least I'll be cruising somewhere!
