One serious harbor entrance. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

Southampton is a departure and arrival port as well as Ijmuiden so passengers will be arriving and leaving the ship.

When we arrived in April aboard MSC Lirica a lot of people were travelling to Hamburg. The main excursions were to London and Salisbury and Stonehenge.

    Salisbury and Stonehenge link below:

The bridge cam on MSC Opera is pointing directly to Mayflower Park, this and the nearby town quay are good places to view ships in Southampton.

What fascinates me is that ships can have multiple termination/origination points. In the US market, all ships have only one origin and one ending point. It leads to a more organized trip (only one greeting by the wait staff and command staff, only one life boat drill) and it definitely makes it easier for the home office to schedule and book cabins.

Hoping nedstar enjoyed the cruise aboard MSC Opera. I have been out most of the day, and also tomorrow, Opera has started her next cruise since I returned home.

Again hoping an enjoyable time was had.
