NCL Star - May 4, 2006 Coastal Repo

We have booked this cruise as a travel home portion of a Disneyland trip. Only 3 days, but a much preferred travel mode than 2 1/2 hours on a plane

    Anyone else going?

Are you from Vancouver? We'll be on the cruise, because we really want to go to Vancouver again for lunch! (And dinner)

I forgot to add, we are BIG Disney fans, we live about a 20 minute drive south of Disneyland. Will you pick me up some salt water taffy from Main Street?

Hiya Brooke .... I thought I'd pop my head over on one of your threads!

You'll love the star! Great ship. I was on her for my Hawaiin cruise before she got renovated and spiffed up!

And I know you and your DW and girls will LOVE disneyland. the Happiest Place on Earth afterall! I've been there twice this summer and just love it!

Happyfamily, where do you live? I'm originally from Yorba Linda. Worked at Disneyland for 2 years! Loved it! You're lucky to be sailing with Brooke, he's a riot!

jstducky, I'm following you around these boards right now, I think I just posted elsewhere just before or after you!

I live in Mission Viejo, before that Lake Forest (when it was still El Toro!) before that all over the county in apartments before I settled and got married. Before that, I grew up in Garden Grove, when it was still a nice place to live (in the 60's).

DH has often wished that I would get a job at Disneyland so I would get sick of it. I don't currently hold an annual passport (darn), but I have had them for many years. My favorite time at Disneyland is right at opening, I love Main Street before it gets crowded. DH and I go on all the rides, we leave our kids at home, they are soooo burned out on Disneyland.

How can anyone get burned out on Disneyland??? The two years I worked there during college were the most fun I've ever had. It wasn't even like a job! I often think about trying to go back and get a weekend job there. I wouldn't ever do it, but it would be fun. I don't have an annual passport right now, but I wish I did!

My favorite time at Disneyland is during the fireworks. I just love them. Have you seen the new fireworks show? Amazing! And now I can see it for free everynight if you go to Downtown Disney!

I've only been to Vancouver twice (well, maybe 3 times, if you count pre and post cruise!). The first time I visited for only a day with friends from Washington, a little disappointed because the husband (not mine, the friend) didn't want to go. Last year, we sailed Infinity out of Vancouver, so we went up a couple of days ahead of time, then stayed over an extra day on our return. I love the city and think I could vacation there for a week or more.

We loved Stanley Park, Granville Island, Robson Street, China Town, we even walked down to the port to see the ships the night before we flew home. The day we got off the cruise, we had lunch at Joe Fortes and plan on doing that again. We are still looking for a recommendation for dinner that evening, if you care to share. We'll be staying at the Hyatt, close to the cruise port and love little family places with great food. Any suggestions?
