Congratulations on your new cruise!

What is the itinerary and how long is it?

When does Mardi Gras actually start? I know it ends on Shrove Tuesday, which is the 24th.

It's a 7 day cruise, we are going to Costa Maya, Belize, Santo Tomas de Castilla, and Cozumel. We've already been to Costa Maya and Cozumel, but we have so many friends going that we decided to go anyway! But Belize and Santo Tomas de Castilla will be new to us. We're definitely going cabe tubing in Belize!!

And Mardi Gras officially starts about 10 days before we leave. But the best parades are on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of Feb. As well as "Fat Tuesday". (In New Orleans.) There are also parades in the outskirts of New Orleans as well, just not as extravegant

We've lived here our whole lives, been there, done that!!!

We're leaving for Mardi Gras as well. We'll be on deck 10. We have a 9 yr old son who will be with us. We live in Patterson, La about 80 miles from new Orleans. This will be our first cruise.

I will also be on this cruise with my wife and two sons, age 9 and the older boy turns 12 the week before. This will be the second cruise for my wife and I. Our first was the Carnival Sensation out of NOLA.

The wife and I will be onboard this cruise. We are coming from Las Vegas and spending Friday and Saturday before the cruise to JOIN IN with the Mardi Gras fun!!

We understand you wanting to get away from Mardi Gras - we avoid as much of Las Vegas as we can, go figure??

Hello mowdoc, Friday and Saturday are great days to be in New Orleans. One of the best parades is the superkrewe of Endymion which rolls Sat night. Large floats, great bands and they throw tons of stuff. A lot of families go on vacation during Mardi Gras because the kids get off all week. See ya!

My husband and I just went to Vegas for the 1st time 2 years ago. We has such a blast, can't wait o go again!! You and your wife are going to love New Orleans. Make sure you don't miss Endymion on Saturday! It is by far the most beautiful parade that we have! I hope ya'll enjoy yourselves, also don't leave without getting some boiled crawfish!! yum
