Norwegian Cruise Line continues to provide F3 updates to travel partners during its executive webinar series. Yesterday, evp Andy Stuart showed agents recent construction images from the St. Nazaire shipyard and said all of Norwegian Epic’s public space names have just been finalized.
One venue will be called Wasabi’s. Stuart gave no further details other than promising the space is going to be ‘very cool.’
Earlier unveiled venues include lounges and nightclubs Spice, POSH, Bliss and Halo.
In other Norwegian Epic news, Mexico’s Costa Maya issued a release welcoming the ship’s maiden call in summer 2010. As previously reported, the new NCL vessel will be sailing year-round from Miami on alternating Western and Eastern Caribbean voyages, with visits to Costa Maya every other week.
The Yucatán Peninsula port is particularly pleased to add the 150,000gt ship to its roster after investing heavily in improvements following severe damage from Hurricane Dean in 2007.
‘These improvements included a modified pier to accommodate the newer, larger ships like Epic,’ said Costa Maya president Teofilo Hamui. He noted that new facilities continue to be added, with the opening of a Hard Rock Café near Costa Maya’s main complex now scheduled for October.![]()
