I would be happy with any information you can give about cruising or the Bahamas. My parents went to Bermuda for their honeymoon over 40 years ago. I think a few things might have changed.
Did you do any snorkeling while in Bermuda? No one seemed to be talking about Bermuda in the Snorkel and SCUBA forum. Just curious!

According to my dh, the snorkeling was the absolute best he's ever done. We've been to St. Thomas, Bahamas, St. Martin, Grand Turk and Cozumel to snorkel. We went to Church Bay in Bermuda which was absolutely beautiful.
There is so much to do and see, I don't know if I can do it all. The first day we'll probably revisit Church bay and some other places on that side like Horseshoe Bay.
We are probably going to use the 2nd day to do snorkeling and sight seeing at the far end up near St. Catherine's Beach, Tobacco bay and the caves. That way we can stay out for the most of the day and not spend to much time on buses.
The 3rd day is the one we will have to tender in. So since that day will be the shortest, we will go to places a little closer.
There is a 3 day bus pass that you'll probably want to purchase. Whatever you do, don't walk! When you look at the map it doesn't seem like it should be very far, but trust me when I say it is far, very far. That is the family joke. We got off the bus because we thought it would be shorter to walk the distance ACROSS to Church Bay rather ride the bus around the entire loop. Let's just say we got some pretty good pictures from what we believe to be the top of the island!!!
Friends of ours hired a private car for a few hours and said it was wonderful. It is much cheaper to do this than have a taxi drop you off/pick you up etc. I think their trip was about 3 hours, but they really didn't stop long anywhere. That would be the downfall of a private hire if you wanted to stay somewhere to snorkel or swim.
I honestly can't wait to go back. It is so beautiful. Everything is very expensive ($7 for an ice cream cone!) I'm hoping that they have the dine ashore program. Have you heard of this? Each adult gets a voucher for $25 for lunch. They charge only $5 per voucher to your room, but it is worth $25 which is basically the cost of lunch. You don't have to take it, but you have to notify them before you go ashore. You can also upgrade to a dinner. $10 for a $50 voucher.
There is a beautiful blown glass factory at the dock. It is a bit on the expensive side, but they have some reasonable things. If you are looking for a special souvenier (sp) these things are beautiful.
I don't know if you've heard of the rum cakes or not. They have a "factory" with free samples at the dock. The samples are good, but I felt for the price the cakes weren't all that great when we got home.
Well, have I bored you enough??? Sorry, I can go on for hours about cruising!!! Just let me know if I can help you with anything in particular. We really only shopped at the dock and snorkeled at Church Bay, but I did a lot of research the last time around. This time I'm working on the bus routes so that I know the quickest bus to take.
