What weird or fun thing do you pack for your cruise to make it a little more fun? Ya, know...that thing that no one else brings. Or, that thing that makes you happier just to have it with you.
Nothing really fun, but I bring everything I could possibly need.
I'm hanging around, but it seems like the roll call on the DS has the most action. I think it's just you and I over here!
Okay, I am starting to get a little nervous about all the negative reviews that are coming off the Dawn. Bad food, bad service, bad staff, bad planning...and the list goes on. There are bad experiences, bad cruises and bad attitudes that can make up a negative review. I also know that people are more likely to complain than compliment. What has me worried is the severity of the incidents referred to in the reviews.
The Kid's Crew seems to be, for our age group, okay. The negative stuff is mild and doesn't have me running to cancel our trip.
Am I in for rough sailing or a pleasure cruise? I'm not expecting to be pampered, I'd settle for a nice cruise with decent people.
I'll just say this, don't take those negative reviews to heart. Take them with a grain of salt, as they say. I've read many negative reviews about the Carnival Valor when she first entered service, then when I was aboard, it was the best experience I've had.
I've cruise once, just a 1 night cruise on the Norwegian Sun and had a good time. If you have one bad experience with a crew member, and great experiences with the rest, your cruise is not ruined. Forget what you read about the food, I've read reviews about horrible food on the Crown Princess. Lorrie, Jim, Janet, Sonia and myself have cruised on the Crown and can attest to the great food on that ship.
I'm sure you'll have a great cruise with Lorrie and her family on the Dawn.
Hi Lorrie, geez, it's almost a year since you guys were on the Crown. You're plenty less than a month before the Norwegian Dawn. Have fun.
How totally sad is that? Even with a cruise booked, I'm just not as "pumped" as I was for the Crown. The roll call on the DS is a good one and the people are really nice -- just not my Crown Cruiser Family
As for bad reviews - Ken, you're right. We did read a lot of 'bad' reviews of the Crown and we did have a blast. A cruise is what you make it. If you let one thing annoy you so badly you will definitely have a negative experience.
Oh well. I'm nodding too and I keep hearing something rattle, what is that???

I know exactly what you mean. I never could get anyone to join in a roll call for our Mex Riv cruise in April and that cruise was just not the same. The upcoming two cruises we have booked should be better. The wedding cruise of course, will involve lots of family (not sure that's such a good thing ) but at least we won't feel like we're on the big ship with no one to talk to but each other. The RCI cruise has a decent roll call going and has for some time but for some reason I just haven't bonded with those people the way we all did. I dunno! Anyway, long story short, for us it is not so much where you cruise or even the ship as it is WHO you cruise with.
I don't take the bad reviews to heart because heaven only knows there is no end to the people who just look for things to complain about.

You're not pumped because the group on the Crown is not booked on your cruise.
Sonia, one bad review I read of the Crown was someone saying that the only good food that individual had was the PizzaUnbelievable.
