Norwegian Breakaway will home-port in New York City & Peter Max has been commissioned to paint signature hull artwork!

Experts are saying that the ship will bolster an ongoing series of Norwegian Cruise Lines' itineraries to Bermuda - always a nice option when cruising from NYC.

What do you think, NCL fans?

Excellent, a port I can drive to. I wonder if she will displace the Gem ?

WOOH! I agree with Tony - flipping great that I can easily drive to this ship! That increases the chances ever so greatly of us cruising on NCL.

Not according to the NCL statement - the Gem will continue to cruise out of NYC also.



According to a release issued by the company, “Norwegian Cruise Line was the first cruise line to homeport year-round in New York City beginning in 2003. Since then, we have been committed to bringing our newest and largest ships to the Big Apple, with two ships calling in New York City since 2005. Norwegian Gem will continue to sail from New York City year-round and Norwegian Star will sail 15 times from New York in 2013 before being replaced.”

While I look forward to being able to drive from Ottawa to NY to take advantage of the New York homeport, I hope that they will add some exciting Caribbean itineraries.

On the NCL site it says Breakaway will visit King's Wharf for her Bermuda cruises...

This is good news for me. I like to leave out of Boston or NYC for my cruises!
