    NCL and reduction in price!?!?

Will NCL, like RCI/Celebrity, honor a reduction in price after i have booked???

If NCL does, will they also honor a price drop after final payment???

Good question, Lars. I have read that NCL does not honor price drops after final payment---however, policies change all the time.

Perhaps our NCL Navigator or someone who frequently cruises on NCL can update us on the current policy.

Prior to final payment NCL will honor price drops with the rare exception of "new booking" promotions. After final payment they do run promotions to try and fill the ship. Occasionally, I repeat occasionally, they have relented and made price modifications after final payment. Usually the best I have heard of was a little OBC to compensate to the really "squeaky wheels".

The thing to remember is that if you book through a TA, NCL will only talk to your TA. If you book directly with NCL you can call and bug them all you want.

If I don't know the answer I'm fairly certain I can find it.

Thanks John I thought that is the way I remembered, but you never know when policies will change.

No price drops after final payment has been my experience also. I did try on one occassion with a group booking and was given on board coupon booklets to placate me. The coupons actually had some good discounts and twofers.

It is always best to monitor the prices and inquire. I understand that once you have made your final payment you are out of luck but may get an upgrade if you persist.

    This has been my experience.

When booking with a TA, cheaper price when booking. No OBC upon a price drop because price has always been lower. I usually book out at least a year, and wait for that perfect time. Whenever that is.

I have occasionally booked directly with NCL. The strategy then is to get an upgrade after final payment when the ship is not full. When I do this, the cruise is not during peak season. I have been very successful.
