    Our Fare Price Was Reduced!

We just found out from our TA today that our cruise fare has been reduced $230 per person!!
I'm thrilled but shocked that our fare was reduced so much, so far out from the cruise date. I'm curious, has anyone else has received a reduction in their NCL fare recently as well?

Congrats on the special!! And that speaks highly about your TA who was monitoring your rate.

In today's economic environment, it's not unusual to find specials to lower your price by that much. However, keep in mind that with NCL, should the price go down after your final payment has been made, you will not get the price reduction. You would with other cruise lines, such as RCCL, but not with NCL.

As for the amount, last year I had a client who had a junior suite across the hall from an inside cabin for the kids on the Indendence of the Seas for a Christmas cruise. Two weeks before sailing, I found a special that lowered the cost of the two cabins by $940!

But I still highly recommend booking as early as possible as that still may be the best rate. Plus, if you wait until the last minute hoping a special comes along, your airfare will be much higher. So do like you did; book early and watch for those specials.

Hopefully, another one will be forthcoming that will make the deal even sweeter!

    I agree with Pete...

It does happen, not just on NCL... I have a client on the Ruby Princess next year... his price went down about $600. I get more specials on cruises in my inbox everyday and can hardly keep up with them... the economy is hurting and the cruiselines are cutting prices!

    Congrats....

I'm just surprised to see it go down so much when we're still over 11 months out from the sail date. Plus now it means we're sitting about $780/person for an Ocean View cabin (including taxes and port fees). I didn't think prices started going that low until closer to 6 months from the sailing date.
I understand the current economy has meant discounted prices for 2009 dates, but didn't think it would start affecting 2010 dates until later when people can see if the economy has started to pick up or continue to decline.
Anyway, I was curious if NCL is running sale right now and if that was the reason for our discount. Regardless of what it was that brought about the discount, our group is hoping for another nice discount like this before our final deposit. I'm holding out hope that our fare will drop down to $500 per person.

Today, I got a client a $1000 reduction per person on a 12-night Med cruise on Celebrity!!! And on top of that, I got them bumped up from a balcony cabin to the concierge level. Could not believe it!

There are definitely deals out there to be had for those who are looking.

Wow that's amazing! If our fare had gone down $1,000 I'd probably fall over since our fare started out at a little above $1,000/person. lol
