Skagway - Last year my daughter and I walked into town and came across a little theatre which offered a show and bus tour. First they presented a short play about Soapy Smith and other key figures of the prospecting days. - This gave us an overview of how Skagway was born. Then we boarded a bus and went up to the White Pass at the Yukon Border. The tour was narrated by the driver and the history was fascinating. When we returned to Skagway the tour took us to the town cemetary where all the significant characters were buried. It was an excellent day.I also heard the rail trip was good.
Juneau - We went up the Tram to the top of the mountain. Great view and nature center at the top. Then shopping in the million jewelry stores. (Well it seemed like a million).I think Juneau is where people were raving about helicopter and dog sled rides.
Ketchican - We wandered the town - again a million jewelry stores.![]()
There are lots of other tours available too.
