Thread: Calling *Lars* - local guidance please

Sailing on QM2 in August we will visit the Lofoten (Gravdal). Trying to organise a sightseeing tour by local taxi. Have e-mailed and/or faxed several taxi operators I could find within the last week.
So far have only received one (1) response from one that said they were too far away and I should contact another place.
Do they normally take this long to answer, are they not interested, hibernating ... ?? Do I need to phone?
My last Norway trip was 5 years ago and I can't remember if I had to wait long for replies then.

Hope as a local you may have some ideas.
We'll also be in Ålesund - any special suggestions on things to see and do while there?

Hi - Well. I would hardly call me a local for the information you want in Lofoten (unless you call a person living in Sydney a local for information about Perth) I actually had to check on the map here this place was. Its a stunning little place isnt it!!??
Honestly I dont know anything about these companies so unfortunalty I cant tell you if this is normal practice or not. I do hope not

As for Ålesund.
Walk around town is very pleasant.
Walk up or take a taxi/tour up to Mountain Aksla (Fjellstua) for a spectacular view over the town and the surounding areas.
If you are interested in history you could go to the Museum (sunnmøre museum)
