More than 1630 cruise calls to Norway in 2008 An increase of 12% from last year.
Number of visitors to Norway is approximately 1,5 million in 2008. An increase of 16% from last year.
Among Norway's 35 cruise destinations, top 15 destinations have 1,4 million visitors.
Bergen is still on the top in number of calls with 254 calls and 232 210 visitors.
Geiranger number two in number of calls with 169 calls and 163 695 visitors.
Oslo number three in number of calls with 156 calls but Oslo is THE WINNER measured in number of visitors with nearly 240 000 (included Christmas calls)
Flåm number four with 133 calls and 119 684 visitors.
Arctic Norway is increasing as well.
North Cape with 8% increase in number of visitors.
Tromsø 29% increase and Lofoten Islands with 56% increase compared with 2007.
Stavanger is the winner in % increase, measured in number of visitors, with 58%.
UK and Germany are still Norway's most important markets with UK - 27% and Germany - 23% market share. An increase of 1% compared with 2007. US has 16% market share. The forecast for 2009 looks fairly good in number of calls with approximately 4% increase.
