You should visit Norway and the best way to see it all is by taking a cruise!!!
I am from Norway myself..Acually if you look at the picture Garry posed of Geiranger, on the right hand side where you kinda can see a road sloping up the hill side. My family have a farmhouse there. Its been in the family for hundreds of years and also I have a plot there that I might use to put up a log cabin...
Anyway, you should preferably take a Norway cruise with a Norwegian Captain. He will probably take the inside passages when sailing alowing you too see so much more of the country. Ports that MUST be included are, Hellesylt and Geiranger, Trondheim, Bergen, Svolvaer (lofoten), North cape, Flaam an Gudvangen.....
Aalesund is also a beautiful town (ofcourse it is. Its where I was born)

For a truly unique Cruise experience why dont you check out Hurtigruten or the coastal express....
If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask me.
It would for sure be interesting to know which cruise you have choosen..

Lars

Lars, is this one of those "it's a small world" moments? Who would have thought a picture of your family's property would be here on CLF!

Its amazing isn't it!!!...It truly is a small world!!! and thats why I also knew that CLF was "my" site....

Geiranger (just for the record, the picture of Geiranger is the one with with the fjord and the Celebrity ship) is the second most visited cruise port in Norway.
Its the Jewel of all the Norwegian fjords and the most beautiful and breathtaking.
It is a world heritage site too, which is great when visiting but not if you have property there.(lol)
Actually there are so many cruise ships visiting each summer (2007 had over 180 arrivals) that the local government is afraid of all the pollution in the area.
So they have aired some ideas about restricting the cruise ship arrivals..which is good for the environment but not for the tourist industry and the cruise experience sailing the fjord.
