European, Latin Amerian cruises are in this year

Last year was a very good one for the cruise industry, with a spike in passenger numbers and a flurry of ship construction. But now it's time to look ahead to the top sailing trends for 2008. Oh, Caribbean, we shall miss you, but we'll think of you while basking in the Mediterranean sun.

The Med and Baltic both have become a major target for cruise lines. This year there is a 20% increase in ships planned to arriave in the eastern Baltic and the ships cruise lines are commiting to the region are larger for the summer 2008 season. Cruising and backpacking are about the only cost effective way to travel nowadays, hotels are going up dramatically.

It seems that's the case everywhere now Stan, hotel rates are soaring, which leaves hiking and cruising as the best alternatives. However, some middle income families here in the US are affected by those "fuel surcharges" cruise lines now tack on to cruise fares, but even with that, cruising is still the better vacation alternative to a land vacation, except if you own a Timeshare.
