Thread: Your Favorite European Itinerary (and why)

Hi all -

I have only cruised around North America and am interested in something different. I have been considering a European cruise, but there are so many choices. I also wonder if spending only one day in some of these ports is shortchanging the experience.

Can anyone who has done Europe tell me their favorite and why?

Guess, we enjoyed the Baltic cruise the most!

Growing up ... always knew I'd go to England, France, Italy, etc. Just never thought I'd get to go to Russia! Being able to do that was a fantastic experience!

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I have always done warm weather trips and have been reluctant to do others. I think I am missing a lot and need to take a look at other spectacular journeys.

Now it's a matter of how to choose

I missed this post earlier, sorry for the slow response.

It's hard saying which European cruise might be best, we have been to the Baltic and the Mediterranean and both were just simply awesome. Now we have a river cruise coming up that goes down the Danube and promises lots of castles, medieval towns, festivals, plazas with great souveniers...and lots and lots of really good beer...LOL...and that one should be pretty wonderful too!

If you want to read a review that REALLY tells you day by day specifically what a Mediterranean cruise is like...and just how it is spending one day in each port...please take a minute to check out my trip report from November. There are lots of pictures that show what it's like...and plenty of descriptions of the places, the people and the 'feel' of each place. I bet it will really light a fire under you to branch out and see something other than North America!
