    Arrow Flying to Europe

Here is a question that I have been pondering for a while and figured ….what the heck.. let me ask here on CLF and see what kind of responses I get…

Our I flight for our Mediterranean cruise flies out of LAX to LHR and then arrives At BCN at 7:30pm.

My first two questions are these:

    1) What should we expect once we leave lax in regards to changing plains in London? I.e. security etc.

    2) If we arrive at 7:30pm Approximately what time should we expect to have cleared customs and be on our way to the hotel? Does it take hours???

    Thanks

Hm... Joey.. let me guess you're taking an AA flight and then connecting to Iberia/BA?

I have an 8:30 pm flight from LAX (I work until 5:00 pm that day! ) and then fly on AA to LHR, I have a short connection then a flight on Iberia/BA that arrives in Barcelona at 7:30 pm.

I am thinking I'll get to the hotel around 9:30 or so. Then we'll walk Las Ramblas for a bit. Go to sleep, wake up in the morning and spend the day touring Barcelona. This will be Friday. Our ship leaves Saturday evening at 7:00 pm. I probably want to be at the pier early, maybe noon to get on the ship. So Saturday morning might be a final stroll on LAs Ramblas before heading to the pier.

did you have a TA book your flight?

I bought mine through Travelocity. I've been looking at flights for over 5 months now and finally got tired and purchased mine.

I'm a bit concerned about the connection time in LHR. but what can I do? Just hope for the best. Part of why we're going 2 days early.

What is your return flight? Are you spending post cruise time in BCN?

I leave the day my cruise is over, 11:30 am flight out of BCN through LHR and back at LAX at 6:30 pm. Then back at work the next day!

    So when is your trip?

We fly in and out of Europe a lot, and all the airports are different. Some run really smoothly and things go quickly, some seem to take forever. London HTR is huge. The security is well run...but things are spread out...gates are far away and you walk a lot. And bathrooms are hard to find (I remember having to go down several flights of stairs) so leave yourself a lot more time than you think you'll need!

    Joey -

AA and Iberia are separated by one terminal. I beleive they are terminals 2 and 3 at LHR. it shouldn't be too difficult to go from one to the other.
