MS Noordam June 17th 2007 Alaska Here We Come

I just realized I never started a Roll Call Thread for our Alaska cruise. We leave out of Seattle Sunday June 17th. We are arriving in Seattle on Saturday June 16th for a pre stay at the Olympic Fairmont. Just this morning I purchased our air tickets so now I just need to make Final Payment and we will be almost there

Time to start getting excited about our next cruise

I have chatted via email with middle aged mom aka Karin she has stated that she is having trouble signing back into CLF and it will not except her password. I know that she is sailing with us on this cruise.

Just a week ago right now we were sitting in the Vista Show Room enjoying the Mariner's Reception yet it feels like it has been months ago. I can't wait to get back on a DAM Ship

I managed to get back on CLF!

    Hi Lisa:

Yes, I've had trouble getting on to CLF lately; but thanks to you and Chuck and my husband, I'm back! For some reason, I was asked to "re-register", and then my password wasn't recognized?? Anyway, all is now taken care of. Thanks Lisa, for your help!

Yes, indeedy, Lisa and I are going to be cruising together on the Noordam June 17th, leaving from my home city of Seattle. I am very much looking forward to this sailing with Lisa and her husband, Tom. Also on the ship with us will be a group of about 300 fans of the psychic Sylvia Browne, as well as a group traveling with Jimmy Fortune (formerly of the Statler Brothers). We should call this the "Psychic and Singers" cruise. I am neither a singer nor a psychic, although sometimes my children think I might be the latter, because they tell me that I seem to know what they're thinking. Call it being a mom.

I have so missed using all the cute little smilie icons here.....

    Welcome back over here Karin

I can hardly wait for just 11 weeks from tonight and we will be in Seattle waiting to board the MS Noordam the next morning.

But the diet starts back up Monday, I really did well on the Oosterdam and by Tuesday this past week I weighed what I weighed when we left for the cruise but then that was a ticket to eat what ever I want including a whole box of girl scout cookies I bought before the cruise and saved at work I have not been on the scale for a few days, oh well I am back at it starting Monday and plan to loose at least 12 more pounds by June 16th when we leave.

    Hi Lisa:

I just called HAL's ship's services today to get a "kid count" for our cruise. As of April 12th, there are 176 youngsters between the ages of 3-17 on our cruise (ages 3-17 being the ages that are eligible for Club HAL). Certainly seems like a reasonable amount, given that summer vacation will have already begun in many parts of the country. Here in Puget Sound, most schools don't get out for summer vacation until June 22 or even later in some cases.

Karin, that good news to know

My guess with this cruise having the groups on them they do not attract families as much, thus less kids. Our two previous cruises to Alaska were both in early May were NO kids to speak of. I will say that both our previous Alaska cruises were different than a normal HAL cruise. They both had a much larger percentage of first time cruisers, with far less at the Mariner's Reception. For many it seems this was a trip of a Life Time. Many people from all over the US, they were just both really different. Could be because it was so early in the season as well. But definitely a different type of cruiser for Alaska.
