Decor honoring the historic glamour of New York City will feature on Holland America Line’s new ship Nieuw Amsterdam.
Known as Nieuw Amsterdam by its Dutch founders, New York City art, craftwork and historical artifacts documenting its Native American history and Dutch influences will be displayed on the ship.
New facilities include the Silk Den, a 52-seat lounge on Observation Deck (deck 11), featuring ocean views.
Adjacent is pan Asian restaurant Tamarind, which also features sea views.
Tented cabanas can be rented by the day or for an entire cruise in the private Cabana Club. A second collection of Cabanas will also line the mid-ship lido pool area.
The 2,106-passenger vessel will sail on its maiden voyage on July 4.
After several 12-day Mediterranean sailings, Nieuw Amsterdam embarks on crossing of the Atlantic to the Caribbean for seven-day eastern and western island itineraries from November through March next year. \
