It's always been a matter of when, but M/V Rena that was stricken in late December has finally broken up in rough seas. There were once concners of an envirnomental disaster but at this stage due to careful management the handling of the situation is under control

What a mess! I wonder what is in all those cargo containers? Do the laws of salvage apply? (first one there gets to recover what they can?)
