Christchurch's port is battling their insurance company to get their port rebuilt after the 2010 earthquakes. Previous a major cruise ship stop, port visits this year are down from 64 last year to just three this season. Most ships have diverted to the lovely coastal town of Akaora which is enjoying a massive tourism season. The one downside being that it is a tender port.
