Thread: Navigator of the Seas 20 JAN 11

Will be attending the 14th SATH Congress (www.sath.org) onboard. Anyone else sailing or attending the event?

Oh! The Navigator 2 months in a row!

We sailed on Navigator with Captain Bang...I wonder if he is still an active Captain or if he has retired? Do you know?

I have not sailed her is several years so will be interesting to go back again. Do not believe I have croissed waves with Capt. Bang but then I rarely remember who was at the helm. Did find a listing for the good skipper on Linkedin Leif Otto Bang - LinkedIn and it appears he is still sailing.

You would remember Captain Bang! He is a very hands on Captain...eats in the buffet for lunch. We would see him in a hard hat going in and out of maintenance areas. He is the only captain that I know who hosts the Captains Table every night, not just formal nights. His American wife, Darlene, often sails with him.

You are right I would remember someone like that for sure.
