    We don't like going there!

In addition to an unsafe feeling ... I don't like the pier location nor the meeting area for shore excursions.

    It NOT " .... where I wanna be" !!!!

I have never been, but I have never heard one good thing about Montego Bay, other than it wasn't Ohio.

I like Mobay. Never felt unsafe. No problem, Mon. Last time there was Nov 2007.

Love Jerk anything and Jamaica patties and Red Stripe, and ...

Next trip to Jamaica is Novemberish of this year, but the port is Ocho Rios this time.

Have been there a few times -- HATE that port.

A couple of years ago we even cancelled a cruise because Ocho Rios was taken off the itinerary and Montego Bay was subsituted.

Hi ZY! Please tell us what you did in MoBay ... excursion (either ship or independent) or did you just roam around on your own?

Last time in MoBay (No 2007), I just went on my own to Sunset Beach Resort. Parts of it were under renovation, but all that should have been completed long ago.

The cost is $40pp and I think there is a child rate. They do accept credit cards.

For the $40 you get an all inclusive experience with food, booze, beer, several beaches including a nude one! It used to be $20 but jumped to $40 when they added a water park complete with water slides, lazy river, etc.

I thought the snorkeling was decent and saw lots of things including some reef squid which fascinate me.

It is perfectly safe. I took a taxi there, but ended up just walking back to the ship in a light rain, which was kind of surreal. A few years ago, some friends on a cruise renewed their wedding vows there which some people might be interested in.

I has been a number of years since we have been to either port in Jamaca.
The last couple times we have just stayed on the ship.
Thinks may have changed but the last time we went ashore we were approched a number of times by people selling drugs.

We are going to Ochos Rios in September but at this time I do not know if we will go ashore.
