We just came back from the Monarch last weekend. I can tell you this the ship is great, the people are incredible! everyone from the staff, and crew treated us like royalty. The food is everywhere, we didn't have to order room service once. There's lots to do, not to mention sitting in the schooner bar watching the ocean go by you as you look out one of those big windows is just unreal. There are no words to describe our trip, as a matter of fact we liked it so much we booked again on Sunday night while still onboard for the 4 day trip this time.

We just LOVE the Sovereign of the Seas, which is the Monarch's older sister.
Next year, the Sovereign will be in Spain, and the Monarch will have moved here to the East Coast.
I look forward to sailing on the Monarch . . . but am VERY sad to be losing our wonderful Sovereign.

So theklb, do you have any word about the menus for the OP? They are rolling out some new items and I wonder if the Monarch has them yet?

Glad you had such a a grand time!

The menus are very good, we had steak the first night, for lunch one day we had burgers and spinach wraps. They had great pasta, mashed potatoes, caesar salads. On our last night we had turkey with all the trimmings. The buffet is out of this world the food there was absolutely unbelivable. If you see a tall man with a bald head his name is Sheldon Rodriguez he is in charge of the buffet, and the Jade sushi restaurant tell him we said hi, and look forward to seeing him and his incredible staff on September 8th for our 4 day cruise. I have uploaded several photos of our trip in the members photos section.

To add to my dear husband TheKLB post i have a few picture of the menu food. the dinner every night in the main dining area were good all three course meals they had selection between for 1 st course lobster soup, scallops risotto, Cesar salad, spinach dip w/chips etc. for second course they had variates of stuff steaks all types( thin sliced, thick),chicken, salmon, etc. and for desserts were great as well all kinds, lunch in the main dining area was fabulous where we had the wraps, great seasoned burger and great pasta!! i recommend trying the lunch for sure in the main dinning room, the buffet was OK i am not big on them like my husband is it was OK the buffet just like any other buffet ha ha. Jade sushi was so so i only ate there once the whole time on the ship. But all in all the food was good. I wont say omg great but it was good. But i will say the lunch was GREAT ha ha that is a must try! Click the link to see some of the pictures i taken of the foods..

Yes that was risotto, I didn't try it, but the wife did. I wrote a review of our trip in the review section of the forum if you would like to read it.
