Being a first time cruiser, I'm wondering if someone can tell me what the MUST see/do activities I'd enjoy on board. Will be crusing on the 4-night Baja Judne 26-30. Wondering what the entertainment line up is. Anyone with a recent daily compass?

The Ladies Only Cruise was on the Monarch in early May and if the comedian is the same one we had - sorry don't remember the name but he use to be a cop in LA - you will die laughing. Also if you have an open mind then the adult comedy show is also great. And if you have a really open mind go to Quest. Charlie in the Schoner Bar is great. Enjoy your trip.
MaggiePlease support the Shrine Hospitals - the children thank you.
Were leaving for Monarch on Monday, June 19--we'll let you know!!
Great, can't wait to hear the details. Have fun . . .
Hey Maggie,
Thanks for the tips, I'll be sure to say "HI" to Charlie when we visit the Schoner Bar.
dueling pianos was awesome fun, and quest was riotous!
the Monarch is not a gorgeous ship but you can make it a heck of a good time-enjoy!
Since this is my very first cruise, I won't have anything to compare the Monarch with, so I'm thinking we'll have fun - 18 of us on a family reunion. I'll be sure to suggest we see dueling pianos; questionable on the quest, however, after reading people's reviews! We leave on Monday, June 26th, getting excited. Thanks for taking time to reply.
You are going to have a great time! We just got back from Monarch this morning.
Everything was MUCH better than I expected. The service is great, and the facilities are quite nice. They had two different comedians. One did "musical" impressions, the other (the former cop) does a more traditional stand-up routine. Both are very funny.
There was a lot of musical entertainment on board, ranging from a guy playing classical guitar in the Centrum, to a great band in The Circuit (nightclub). Bolero's is a beautiful space. I really liked going there in the daytime when no one was around to just sit and read, but it gets hopping in the evening. The Schooner Bar is a nice place to hang out, too. There is something for everyone on Monarch, from the party hearty type to the more sedate.
Everyone I spoke to had a great time. There were quite a few large family reunion/ 50th anniversary / 90th birthday groups. The only problem is that the time goes too fast.
Have a great cruise!
