Never done such a slow paced cruise on such a small ship. We usually stick to the larger ships with more activities available. But the change of pace will be nice. We plan on just beaching it on Coco Cay and maybe some shopping in Nassau.
I know several people have done this itinerary before. Is there anything we should try? I'm not so sure about Atlantis, it sounds like a lot of people at a big resort. Where do the locals go for fun? What about lunch?

Congrats Sonja - wish we are going, but we are not.![]()

Hey Sonja!
Glad to hear that you are sailing again!
I have alerted Canarymoon that you are looking for info, so maybe she can give you some pointers when she logs on tomorrow.![]()
Hi Sonja.
Yes, I have done this itinerary a few times. Only once on the Monarch. but 19 times on her sister, the Sovereign.
Now, if I suggestopms activities without asking your interests, most of my recommendations will revolve around water, so I'd better ask first. What do you most like to do?
(PS - I've never been to Atlantis, and only went shopping once, since neither amuse me in the least, so I won't be much help there.)
What do you most like to do in a port?
I loved the ship - it's more of an honest to goodness ship, rather than a floating platform for supporting an amusement park. AND the crew. We were pampered shamlessly by the crew on our one trip on the Monarcy. Must have been because there wee lots of 'weekend partier' type, and who were being rather brash with respect to their attitude towards the crew, and were are exactly the opposite. maybe.
As for CocoCay ... oh, my, what can I cay, except that I think CocoCay is almost paradise. (That's a link to a pictoral review that I wrote on another site, if you're interested.)

Atlantis is ..... interesting. Picture one of the Vegas strip hotels moved to the Caribbean and you will have a pretty good idea. It is designed to get money away from gamblers with the least amount of pain possible. It also has very good tourist attractions to attract everyone else (with the hopes that they will end up in the casino) The aquarium is wonderful and has a fantastic collection of fish. I have not been to the other activities there.
Prices in the restaurants are high....
Last time we were there we got a private tour from a guide who met us on the docks, Big T. A very good tour of the out of the way places.
You might be interested in the flamingo tour. It is a great photography opportunity. Going with the kids or by yourself? Little Red will love chasing the birds....
There are many good beach opportunities as Canarymoon suggested.

Thanks for the info guys. Canarymoon, I loved your review of Coco Cay. I hope we can snag a hammock or two. I'd love to lay around on one and drink Coco Locos all day.If the snorkeling is good we will do that, too.
The kinds of things that we like to do when cruising are all about the water... snorkeling, catamaran, swimming with something (anything!), aquariums. I could be on a tiny boat circling an island for hours and be happy. We love the water. I guess that's why cruising is just our style!
We do like island tours also. I prefer to see the island for what it is and eat what the locals eat. Since we have so much time in Nassau, we could do an island tour and still have plenty of time to do other things. We talked about a resort dive since we've always wanted to try scuba diving. Or maybe just some beach time and a little shopping. Paradise island sounds interesting. I also saw the RCCL has a sunset champagne catamaran cruise that lasts 2 hours. Sounds perfect to me! Have you done that before?
One thing we would really love to do but I don't see as an option this time around is riding horses on the beach. I rode with Randi once in Mazatlan and it was so wonderful. I don't know if anyone could compare to Randi, but I had such a great time and talked about it for so long that now Earl wants to try it. Maybe that's a better thing to do in Florida? We have an extra day in Orlando before boarding the ship.
Neal, no Lil Red this time. I'm taking the boys to see Grandma & Grandpa in Alabama on the way down. They will stay there with all their cousins while we are away.![]()
