    Millenniumm Transatlantic - March 18, 2007

    Hi all,

Anyone else booked on this transatlantic from Ft. Lauderdale to Southampton next March? If so, would love to hear from you.
My husband and I are flying from Germany (where we live part of the time) to Miami the beginning of March to get on the cruise on the 18th. Our 3rd X cruise and 5th altogether. Numbers 6 & 7 are already booked and will be on Infinity next September (Vancouver-Alaska-San Francisco) and in February, 2008 to New Zealand/Australia on Mercury.

    Hi Sharon,

I know - it is a shame. It's a great itinerary and Millennium is my favorite ship. But I really want to go to the Carnival in Rio and Celebrity isn't offering that cruise in 2008 nor in 2009. (They chartered out Infinity for Carnival the next 3 years.) So this was my 'last' chance...

I am considering the September cruise on Infinity from Vancouver to San Francisco on Infinity. (I noticed you're booked on that one as well.) I was supposed to do this cruise this year, but it got cancelled because of POD problems... I still have a 'free future cruise' certificate because of it!

    Best Regards,
    Floris

    Hi Floris,

I really understand your reasoning about doing Carnival from onboard Infinity. We also have a couple of cruises on our "plan" list including a South America trip. But, this TA looks very interesting - a nice group up to now - and we can stop on Tenerife (for us, our second home, to do the laundry) before continuing on.

The Sept. Vancouver-Alaska-San Francisco also looks fantastic. We've just booked our one-way flights with LTU from Germany to Vancouver and will do the same from SFO or LAX back to Germany. We love San Francisco and plan to spend some time there after the cruise finishes.

Your posts are always interesting to read and very objective. Enjoy them very much and hope to meet you on a cruise -- someday soon.

    Hi Sharon

    Fancy seeing you here!

Don't log on here as often as the DS and only just noticed your thread - and another for this cruise started by Addict.

I was expecting to find a lot going on here, but alas, no.

I don't know about you, but I am getting more and more excited about this trip by the day.

    Hi Ali,

Sure am glad you found me here - it's been pretty lonely waiting for replies. DS is really more active with these rollcalls, but I thought it would be worth a try, since this site can be so much friendlier. Had hoped we would find some new members for our great group!

Looking forward to meeting you soon.

Hmmm, are you going to tell him, Sharon, or shall I?

The "Dark Side" is the friendly name that some of the posters on this site have given our more usual posting site. This was done (and please correct me if I'm wrong) after the moderators deleted the Owls thread about 12 months ago without any warning, after it had been running for many many posts. Many of the posters were so upset by this that they mutinied over here. You may notice that many of the older names whom you used to see posting very often don't any more, but you will still find them over here. They still participate in rollcalls, but not on the main threads.

Sharon is also right in what she says about this site being "friendlier" as you can still have an opinion (whether everyone agrees with you or not) without being flamed agressively which can happen on the DS.

Aaaaaah I have now woken up, must have been brain dead for a while, I did know this but because I have not been over here for a while the little bit of grey matter that I do have, forgot.

You are right about this site being friendlier, but it seems the roll calls are less active. I started 2 Roll Calls for our first ever Cruise (Connie 18/12/2006) and got no response at all (I was starting to think nobody wanted to sail with us).

Anyway look forward to seeing you onboard.

I am going on this very cruise and when I recently completed the online check-in back in January it was suggesting Santa Cruz de Tenerife.....my parents are also going on the cruise and they have completed the online check-in and it is now suggesting Santa Cruz de La Palma !!!!!

Parents are phoning Celebrity cruises to clarify this.....mega disappointed if it is La Palma as we have arranged to meet up with some friends in Santa Cruz, Tenerife.

Will update this tomorrow once I hear from them.
