Can anyone recommend Hotel In Miami - Cruise Line Fans: Cruise Forum, Reviews and Chat From Real Cruisers

I have never cruised out of Miami, so I need recommedations for a Hotel to stay Pre Cruise in Miami this summer.

Also, if you fly in to Miami the day before do you Pre Arrange Transportation, from Airport to Hotel, and From hotel to Cruise Port, and Cruise Port to Airport, OR do you just take Taxis when you get there?
Thanks, I personally never have flown to a Cruise Port, so I am not sure about the Transportation in Florida.

We just got back last month from Miami. We stayed at La Quinta on Le Jeune ave. They have a shuttle that will pick you up at the airport(free). They will also take you to the port(we didn't use them ..so I can't remember if it's free or not). The hotel was ok, not fancy and not shabby. Had a pool and nice places to sit around the pool. Also had free continental type breakfast. We were with a group and our rate was $90 plus tax. Not bad for Miami.

Here's info about the Holiday Inn Port of Miami Downtown.

We have stayed there and can recommend it. You can take a taxi from the airport for a reasonable price. Ask for a room facing the harbor and you can see the ships come in. Short taxi ride to the pier from the hotel.
It's directly across the street from Bayside Marketplac which has a lot of restaurants and little shops. It's safe to walk from the hotel to Bayside.
The online price is non-refundable, ut the price by phone is just a few dollars more and is refundable til the day before.

We paid about $130 plus taxes, etc. in May this year.

I will check these two hotels out. Cant wait to go to Miami. I think it will be exciting to sail out of somewhere other than Texas.
