I was wondering if anybody could help us finding a hotel. We are going on our first cruse in Jan to the Eastern Caribbean. We will be leaving from Miami and as we have never been there before either, we are going to fly in from Edmonton Alberta a couple of days early, to do some sightseeing and was wondering if anybody could give a name of some reasonably priced hotels.Thanks in advance for any replies.

We are staying at the La Quinta on Le June, right by the airport!! It has a free shuttle to the hotel from the airport, need to call, a free breakfast in the morning and a free shuttle to the pier!! I have taken 2 cruises out of Miami and usually stay at the Intercontinental or the Port of Miami Holiday Inn. They are both very nice and walking distance from Bayside Marketplace the best outdoor shopping mall and the best seafood restaurants around and beautiful views of the marina.

On my two cruises out of Miami, we stayed at the Courtyard Marriott (booked thru Carnival, '94) and the Holiday Inn mentioned above (2001).

do you know if they let you leave your car there for free like the one in Ft. Lauderdale does??

Yes they do, We stayed there last year and we are staying there this year too!!

The pool area is nice, not as fancy as lauderdale, but nice and clean. Also there is a Bennigans right at the end of the driveway, great Ribs!!

We stayed at the Doubletree Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay
with our hilton points.

We got a free upgrade due to our type of card we are. It was very nice.
Some of our friends stay at the Holiday Inn at the Port area.
