This isn't what you asked, but an alternative idea:

We detest flying into or out of Miami. Every single time, our luggage has been lost, and the airport is not user friendly. So, for the last couple of years, we have bypassed MIA and flown to and from FLL. Nice hotels there, too, and most of them will shuttle you from or to the airport. Most are far less expensive than Miami. It isn't very expensive to get transportaion to FLL, either. Our cab fare is genrally around $35 plus tip, for two.

I like MIA,& the OP is flying from Europe and fares to MIA are much lower.

I have no problems flying in or out of MIA, it's much busier because it's a true Int'l airport, with flights from all over the world coming and going there, like JFK, and ORD. FLL is much easier because it's not as busy.

Living in Fort Lauderdale I have to agree :

Getting in & out of FLL is much easier than MIA Also Fort Lauderdale is simple to find your way a round. Cheap cars rentals can be found inside FLL unlike MIA Miami is also pretty easy to get lost in

Personally, I don't find it easy to get lost at MIA, it's pretty straight forward to me. It's a lot easier to get lost at DFW and LHR (London Heathrow). Now if you mean getting lost in the areas around the airport, or in the City of Miami itself, yes, I'll agree if you are not down there often.
