Costa Maya is a wonderful port of call. When we stopped there, we loved the guide, the ruins, and the surrounding area. We saw some wildlife - actaully saw a monkey- as well as parrots. The gift shop was better than at the pier, and there were things - like wood carvings and such - that were not at the pier so don't miss the shops at the ruins.

    Thanks Sheila!! Great links!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

We did this tour on our stop at Costa Maya. http://www.chacchobenruins.com/ David and Ivan are wonderful! I highly recommend them to anyone. The cost is $43 pp. Over at another web site, they are highly recommended by a lot of people.

The group was small and David and Ivan are highly informed about the culture.

What a great find, Michelle! While we had a very good guide when we went, I love the fact that these guys actually grew up next to the ruins. If we go back (and we need to see what else they discover!), this iw who I plan to book with.

We cancelled our ship tour resevations for this one. It's about half the price and with all the great recomendations, how can we go wrong.
    Thanks Michelle
