Gracias amigos! I am also looking forward in meeting you. I will try to check in often.

Yes, I am afraid that they still are. Probably a 100 of them. Trying to make a living, but they should not jump on the people like they do. If you are not interested just say NO GRACIAS or do not even look at them.

I would like to see the Inn at Mazatlan there. I will be there in January. My bother-in-law will be at his timeshare at the Inn. When we were there in 2004 they paid our taxi to the Inn, we listen to there talk and then had free drinks and lunch as we spent the rest of the day with about 10 people that were there at the timeshares. They were not too high pressure.
All told this will be out 10th time to Mazatlan. About 10 years ago when I was in the grocery business one of my suppliers arranged for us to tour the Pacifico Brewery. I do not know if they do now but at that time there were no public tours. We got a very interesting look at the operation.
Yes the Inn is a nice one, specially the Aztec tower. I have heard that the Inn is low pressure, but some others are super high pressure.
About Pacifico brewery, they did not have tours to the public, as you say. Those started about 3 years ago and I have been there so many times since! It is very interesting to see the process but more interesting are the free samples!

Of course the samples are the best part. For some reason I was a little surprised at how modern the facility was back then. We do not have any major breweries up here anymore. All I can tour is a couple micro-breweries, a number of brew-pubs and some wineriers.

On March 14th 1900 Cerveceria del Pacifico started operations. Three Germans started it. In 1954 Grupo Modelo bought it and has owned it since. They make Corona, Modelo, Negra Modelo, Victoria, Estrella, Montejo and Pacifico. In Mazatlan they mainly make Pacifico but also Corona is made sometimes, when they need more production. I know a few things about the Brewery because I do tours sometimes there. It is very interesting to see and you really see it because you are not behind a glass window. You are right next to the production line!
That is one of the industries of Mazatlan........
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

My husband and I will be in Mazatlan on Dawn Princess on Oct. 6 and are looking for others to join us on one of Mazatlan Frank's tours called The Sierra Madre or Copala/Concordia. It includes visits to a brickyard, tile and furniture factory, an authentic Mexican bakery and includes lunch complete with homemade banana coconut cream pie! The tour lasts 6 hours and costs $60.
We will be touring with Frank's associate Luis and after hearing so much about Mazatlan Frank on these and other boards, it sounds like a fabulous way to spend a day learning about and experiencing real Mexico.
Please contact Frank if you'd care to join us in just a few weeks!
We've gone this route in 1994 and 2003. But we didn't pre-plan any excursions either time. The first time in Matzatlan, hubby negotiated with cab driver for a tour and also practiced his Spanish on him. The second time, we asked the driver to take us to a shopping area so we can buy something for our girl who stayed on the ship. He even met us at the designated time and took us back. BTW the girl didn't want any of the outfits we picked out for her.
In Cabo, we just walked around and ended up in the unpaved part of town. We checked out Cabo Wabo. The second time, I was too sick (allergic reaction to whatever they were burning in Puerto Vallerta) so I stayed aboard and the little one went with hubby.
