Aventura is nice, but too big for us. While we liked the Aventura, we much prefer the Excellence Riviera Cancun - it's much better and smaller. It also has 8 restaurants, which is wonderful! It only has 442 rooms, so it's much smaller than the Aventura and is not as crowded, making it more intimate. We spent 2 weeks there and would go back again anytime - it was wonderful!

Check it out: Excellence Cancun Resort and Spa

    LuLu:

Tha web site for Aventura is:

    http://www.palaceresorts.com/Resorts/AventuraSpaPalace/Index.asp

You can also see the other Palace resorts by clicking on the "resorts" drop down menu near the top. Registered guests can use the facilities at any of the others during their stay.

We went to Playa, about 20 mile north, for a day walked around (shopped of course) then had lunch and drinks at the Playacar Palace. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask

Thanks for the info. We found Aventura was large but not crowded. We liked the "no kids" rule. Not that we don't like kids but after 35 years in education it's nice to relax with out them. We will certainly look into Excellence since we are in no way married to Aventura or any other Palace resort. The 8 resturants sounds good

Those 8 restaurants made it really nice in that it gave us a very large number of options, whereas the Aventura had relatively few options, which was surprising considering the size.

As I said, we spent 2 weeks there and it was absolutely wonderful! I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to go there again.
