Cozumel piers

Have all of the piers been rebuilt in Cozumel?

If I don't know the answer I'm fairly certain I can find it.

John, we were there in May and they are still working on them. Pretty messy too. You have to be careful and watch where you are walking otherwise you might end up in the ocean. It is better now than it was last December, but there is still a lot of work to be done.

Which pier did you go into? So they are docking and allowing you to go in on "under repair" piers.

I am guessing we will be docking at the downtown pier. That is where NCL usually docks.

John, sorry, I don't remember the name of the pier, but it wasn't downtown. The workers are all over the pier where we docked. Wheelbarrows, etc. Still some pretty decent sized holes in the walkway area. Of course they have it cordoned off in areas so you really can't fall in, but it sure wasn't safe looking to me.

I was on the same sailing with hanna, and I believe they called the one used by our ship the "new International' pier.

The Rhapsody was the only ship docking at that one.

We could see a couple of other ships that were either docked or at anchor a mile or two awaymaybe a couple of miles down the way. They appeared to be docked.
I know that one was a Carnival ship.... don't know about the other.

We had a great view of the tying up process from our aft balcony. Here's a pic of the guy waiting to be thrown the line:

Thanks for these updates on the progress of the piers in Cozumel!

With Costa Maya destroyed, being able to do ports stops in Cozumel becomes all the more important.

Yes, it does!
And there will be some days that the streets near the piers will be absolutely thick with cruise passengers.

If I were a Cozumel reesident, I don't know if I would be glad for the extra revenue potential, or frustrated with the crowds and hassles.

We got notify that Cozumel will be the stop in place of Costa Maya on one of our cruises next year.
