    Ensenada?

Has anyone been there lately? What is there to do? We don't want to go to the blow hole. We will be there a full day, has anyone got any suggestions?

    Carol,

I was there 2 weeks ago. Is that lately enough?

I really did not pay any attention to what there was to do.
We just walked into town and spent a couple hours pretending to shop.

It amazes me that folks drive down there and stay there. I was there 10 years ago, it really must have changed. I just remember a small town. We will have fun with whatever is going on. Was it warm when you were there. Like beach warm? We'll be there in May.

South of the border, alongside mountains, desert and sea, Ensenada offers a warm and wonderful introduction to Mexico. The oldest community on the Baja Peninsula, it was first visited by Spanish missionaries in the 17th century. Today it's a thriving seaport. Ensenada's breezy climate invites exploration, shopping for colorful handicrafts, dining on delectable seafood, viewing the wonderful Gold Coast, and sipping cervezas in lively cantinas. The One Thing You Don't Want to Miss
For one of the most amazing sights in Ensenada, travel through the city and into the countryside, past farms and olive groves, to "La Bufadora," or blowhole. This fascinating natural phenomenon shoots water through crevices formed in the rock face of the cliff. Other Fun Things to Do

Experience the unique art of wine making and sample some of the local favorites on an informative tour of Mexico's finest wineries. Enjoy some sightseeing and shopping in downtown Ensenada, then take in the excitement of a Mexican Folkloric Fiesta featuring singers, dancers, and a mariachi band. Shopping for Bargains
Ensenada offers an abundance of quality items, such as fine silver, leather, and glassware unique to Mexico, at unbeatable prices. Through the vast array of handmade arts and crafts, rated among the finest in the world, you can experience Mexico and the Mexican people firsthand. Home of the renowned Taxco sterling silver, this is where you will find an array of your favorite designs and traditional Mexican styles. Ensenada is also known for leather goods; various textures of leather are used to make handmade bags, purses, jackets and belts. For the value-minded shopper, a bounty of unique items, such as stained glass, hand-blown glass, pottery, onyx, and woodcarvings, is widely available.

Mexico's currency is the peso (MXN). The $ sign is used to refer to pesos, so don't be shocked at the price tags. Any prices in U.S. dollars are listed as US$ or USD. Many hotels, restaurants and shops also accept major credit cards, which usually offer you a good exchange rate.

Foxploration is located on Baja California’s Pacific Coast, approximately 60 minutes from the Ensenada cruise ship pier. When you pass through Foxplorations’ gates plan to leave the world as you know it behind and enter into a world of movie magic where imagination and reality merge and the impossible becomes possible.

Foxploration was conceived to offer the public an opportunity to go behind the scenes at a working movie studio and learn firsthand about the production process in an entertaining and interactive way. Begin your visit with a walk down Canal Street, New York, an actual movie set depicting a typical lower Manhattan street. Behind the set is Cinemágico, which includes a variety of interactive exhibits on special visual and sound effects, set construction, model making lighting techniques, makeup and more. The Titanic Expo displays props, sets and costumes from the film. The Planet of the Apes exhibit takes you behind the scenes of the recent re-make, where you see actual props, sets and make up. Dolly Plaza features the original fountain from Hello Dolly and “Sets Bone Yard” where you may see actual set pieces from Fox films. The Props and Wardrobe Bodega is a fully functioning props storage and work area and part of Fox Studios Baja where you may view its collection of props from current and past Twentieth Century Fox movies. All of this and more await you as you explore the world of movie magic!
