We've done the Mexican Riviera cruise twice in the last 11 years. But we usually just wing it without excursions. I checked out sites I wanted to look at (couldn't miss out on Liz and Dick's little lovenest). We got a taxi to town and just walked around, including a bar stop for the hubby.

Unfortunately, there seems to be something in the air that I'm allergic to as both times I broke out in a hay fever attack right after this port.

Must see movie before this cruise: "The Night of the Iguana."

In PV, there is this amazing resort called Krystal and they are open to cruisers. We spend half our day lounging by their fantastic pool that had a swim up bar and went right to the beach. Gorgeous!

oh, and some people with us got massages there for $30 EACH! And they were really good!

Lots to do there, you can't go wrong in Puerto Vallarta. That's my favorite port on the Mexican Riviera cruise.

We've been to PV a couple of times on land vacations and we also really love it! Stayed at the Marriott near the Marina both times. We found PV to be warm and friendly....with absolutely the most varied and best (and cheap!) restaurants on the planet! Many executive chefs from restaurants all over the world have "retired" there and you can eat outstanding meals that range from the traditional Mexican to Austrian, French, German and just about any other type of Continental cuisine you can think of. This influence flows over to the rest of the town, which makes it so interesting to visit. We also found that it has a "safe" feel to it as you walk around unescorted.

I need some help on the Canopy tours. I am under the 250 lb limit. I am about 220. I wear a womans size 18 - 20. I am concerned I will get there and be too large. How do they ask the weight? Do you think I would have a problem fitting into the harness? I will be with thin friends. I certainly don't want to be left behind. How emarrassing!

We did a canopy tour last spring. Now I'm a guy and 6'4" but I'm very close to the 250 limit. I had no problem nor did the people who carried their weight, shall we say more rotund than I. Still I think it wise to contact the vendor and ask them before you go. I'm sure you'll have fun.
