Hi LuLu,
I was there about 5-6 years ago. It was beautiful.
I took a cab to do some sightseeing and went to the other side of the island - loved it. There was a small village - that was so charming - not many tourist there. I wish I could be more helpfuul.

I did not book it in advance - I just hired a local cab (if I remember correctly, there were many cabs by the cruise terminal) - make sure that the driver speaks SOME English and the cab has A/C. He shown me some of the local sites, took me to a place that made tequila, the old fashion way - and, yes, I bought some, and then off to the other side of the island.

we too visited in January of 2007... it was pristine so beautiful... the beach is at the end of the dock.. lounge chairs beverages water toys everything..

LuLu,
I should have added that all the beaches looked beautiful. I normally am not a beach person, mainly because I live in Sunny San Diego, home of some of the best beaches in the world!!![]()

Joey and Tom!
Thank you both so very much! Really appreciate your help!
We live in South Carolina and go to our lovely beaches frequently. Unfortunatly, the water isn't very warm in February ... so we're looking forward to Huatulco.
Since we're on a B2B, we'll be in Hautulco twice so your help is doubly appreciated ... as well as any other suggestions!![]()

we met a Canadian couple while there that they come down every year for a month... they also just think its wonderful...i am looking forward to hearing what you think.. and how much they have built up... when we were there it was just beginning to wake up....FYI~origionally Hautulco was to be THE port city and for what ever reason Mexico changed it to Acapulco and left this place untouched until now..
